Default Installing guages - easier than I thought....

Last weekend mike and I started w/ this

did some of this to his hyundai

and only ended it w/ just getting the guages installed and lighting up, but not working yet

today, we hooked up the oil pressure guage

parts that go on the block

which go here, on the back side next to the oil filter

oil line coming out of the firewall

the end of the oil line which gets plumbed into the block w/a "T"

me trying to thread everything into the block

here it is installed into the block

whoa 60psi while the car is warming up!?!?

after fixing a couple of leaks, oil pressure settled to ~30psi at idle.

yshi - who also changed oil on his land cruiser and also flushed out the clutch master

yeck!

Nice! What color sock did you put on the bulbs to make them match the ITR gauge lights?

Yes, it looks good. Too bad those colored bulb covers Autometer gives with the guages fade real fast.

Hey Yoshi!
What type of Autometer guages are those?
I noticed yours have the carbon fiber face to them.
Are those the "phantom gauges"??

Does anybody have any pics of the Phantoms if not?

These are the phantom gauges :

and this is the gauges installed. - (No bashing my indiglo gagues, stock lighting made the OEM gauges hard to see ) They are on the brightest setting which I do not use when driving.

You shouldn't tap a t-connector directly to the block. It will snap from all the vibration. Here's a proper way to do it. Click here. Fix it before it's too late.

Ok so far we have pics of the carbon fiber and phantom guages, are there any other types of Autometers out there?
