The first time I ever saw a crower powered honda in person, the intake cam broke on the dyno. That was my first impression.
I hear they are not made to as high quality as lets say, JUN, TODA, Skunk2.
I would put them on the same level as Gude, Crane, maybe even JG.

Breaking is a common problem for all aftermarket cams ...... there are horror stories of all of them.
Skunk's original cams were breaking at the outset, then they figured out the problems, and they rarely do anymore unless they are installed wrong ........
Same thing with Crower, they had problems, they are working them out. Toda and Jun have been around a long time, they have more experience, they also had a learning curve. And people are STILL shredding timing belts with the Toda's .......
But Toda and Jun are established .......... and make the same kind of power as Skunk and Crower ......
I'd find out when the cams were installed, by who, and what kind of service has been done to make sure the valveing is still in spec, and have the cams checked out ........

Crower was making the new Skunk 1's 2's 3's ........... so how can the Skunks be better than the Crowers?????????
A friend of mine has a B18A with a full port & polish/milled head with the Crower strip cams (LS) and with I/H/E & fpr he dynoed 161 whp... Which is not bad at all for a non-vtec B18. Crowers are ok in my book, since he's got about a year and a half on those cams with no problems.

My friend is using Crower 402's in his Jspec Type R with Mugen headgasket, ITR 4-1 header, 2.5 exhaust, FPR and sprockets, P28 ecu, dyno'd 203 at Dynamics. Decent midrange power, great top end (hope they don't break
)

I can second that. Used 63402`s in my 98 ITR and they made good power.
I sold them away for some JUN stage II cams I could get cheap.
Crower made better power than the JUN`s though.
But don `t sweat it. I don`t think the newer generation of Crower cams is of less quality than Toda

My good friend has b18c1 in a 95 si hatch.. He has aem intake, dc 4 2 1 header, 2 1/4 exhaust, and crower 03's and he dynoed 168 whp at 2700 ft. Car runs great..

Boy, am I testimony to that.
I absolutly loved my crowers....that is untill I busted the exhaust cam today
I will have some pics up soon, I just called them and they said they'd replace it free of charge...but what a pain in the ***, plus I have to worry about possible valvetrain damage
I'm pretty pissed
Im using the crower valvetrain
im using crower cams and complete valve train.........no complaints here...
There is nothing wrong with the valvetrain components, they were terrific, just the cams themselves are garbage...And I think I see a fracture in one of the retainers, too....
I used them and put down 298. But they were a custom job and Brian made them himself. I've used nothing but Crower cams in all my V8 builds. And man did I beat the ever loving crap out of those motors. I have never seen a Crower Cam break, But I have heard of it, and I have heard about bad metal. I just never experienced it. In theory, I could and can happen to any part made out of metal and under that much strain.
I will tell you, We are all going to see GREAT things come out of Dart soon!!!

Crower valvespring and retainer broke... death of a great motor..
That`s all I have to say so far.
My new JDM engine is strong... and stock.
Good luck out there.
A friend of mine uses crower cams in his GSR. All i can say is that the reputation that crower gets on honda-tech is no reflection on how well they perform. I'm very impressed with his crower cams. Crower gets a
