Default need advice for pipes

'02 F4i

thinking about getting a pipe but can't decide whether full exhaust or just a slip-on. thinking about yosh. worth it? will a full exhaust get me that much more power? or should i just get like a two-bros pipe. remember i'm not the richest man in the world, heck i'm more close to being the poorest man in the world. but would like to make my bike sound better and perform better. any suggestions?

It sounds like you are looking for sounds and looks, in that case just get the slip-on. Heck, your bike has enought power as it is!

Look into Hindle pipes......

Most slipon style exhausts will increase your sound ouput and if you are lucky you may see a 3hp increase in topend hp. A full system will get you usually about double the increase of a slipon, and can net a smoother curve.

I am looking into the full hindle w/titanium cannister for my 929 and it can be purchased from kneedraggers.com for 540. If money was no object, i would look into akrapovic, arata, moriwaki etc. Those are some sweet systems....

If you are on a budget, try to scrounge up the difference between a slipon and a hindle system. I think you would be happier with a complete system. Oh yeah and i would look into a pc III for your f4i to remap the fuel injection once you do get an exhaust. Normally they run ~250-350+.

thx dude

i've seen some hindles but performance wise are they as good as the yosh or even the two bros? money is a factor so i guess i'm looking for the best bang for the buck. remapping the fuel is a must after the slip on.

I have a 95 f3 my pipe of choice is a D&D carbon fibre slip on. I don't give a **** what others say. The sound of this pipe is the best. Ask anyone with a D&D pipe and they will tell you the same thing. I also had my carbs jetted and this bike will run with brand new Ducati 748s. Please consider this pipe. You won't be disappointed.

2bros slip is also very mellow until you get on it. Then it sounds great, not like a 3" thermal turbo exhaust up top. Its nice and thick, this is the first exhaust car or bike that I really give my full approval. Get it and you'll have no complaints except maybe for 2bros customer service which is nonexistant.

I had an Akropovic full titanium on my ZX9R, awesome pipe and it made lots of power.

If you want to make good power for a decent price go with a hindle full system, you will have a choice of a aluminum, carbon fiber or titanium canister.
If you want to just go with a slip-on i'd say go with a Jardine...great quality Good Luck

D&D is very loud but it works well. The TwoBrothers is good too but not as loud, and if you have money go for the Arachapovic. I think the cheapest is the Hindle

Get a Two Bro's high mount. I high mounts. They kick ****!

For a Honda, I would get Two Bro's, D&D, or Erion.

I got Yoshi my my GSXR. I think Suzuki and Yoshimura are like Honda and Mugen.

Basically, you throw on a slip-on for looks and sound, but if you want a power increase, you're going to have to throw on more than a full system. You'll need to remap your ECU (whether by getting a powercommander, or getting yours reprogrammed) and while your at it, you might as well check into the filter/airbox mods.

Either way, you probably won't see a huge increase on total HP, but you'll probably see a decent increase, depending on the system, in your lower powerband.

I've got a TBR full system, jetted, on my SV, and it increased my torque noticable, as well as evened out a few flat spots. Looks nice too.

If your on a budget, and just looking for sound with some minimal power gains go with Jardine or M4. You can get both in a hi mount and in a stock configuration. Both the M4 and the Jardine stainless standard mount slip-ons go for about 215.00 on http://www.parts411.com

I'm personally going with a Micron Serpent for my 54.

If you want great prices, on akro, mig, or a few others check http://www.kneedraggers.com

I've found parts411 to be quite expensive.

Some things are cheap on parts411 and some aren't. I just noticed that they had m4's and jardine's for pretty cheap. Kneedraggers is another great site, almost forgot about them.
