Hope I don't get a piece...
I'm lookin to get a 2nd Gen Prelude (an 87 to be exact), and I want to know if anyone knows what general things to look for when buying one, and what normally goes wrong with them. The one I'm lookin at I already know needs a new thermostat (the temp gauge doesn't register that it's heating up until the car sits for awhile), the timing belt will need to be replaced soon, and the tensioner pulley needs to be replaced. If anyone knows, would it be expensive to do (assuming we do the labor ourselves), and what else usually goes wrong with old preludes?
If it helps, it's the 2Dr. S, 1.8L Dual Carb engine. I don't know if that makes a big difference or not. But thanks for whatever help you guys can provide, I really appreciate it.
