Default Hazards of incorrectly adjusting AEM CAM gears??

Hey guys, I just got a pair of AEM CAM gears and I was wondering if I need to becareful of any mishaps from incorrectly adjusting them since I am using stock CAMS.
I don't redline my car often but I scared about ruining my car if I have my gears set a certain way and rev my car too high.

Any help here is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

if you take them too far out your pistons will hit your valves. don't go any farther than +,- 3. the best way to get them right is on the dyno.
