i usually notice this: when ever i change my oil... about a week later, a quart of it is gone... where did it go? i normally dont drive hard, except for the occasional open road... TIA...

synthetic is your first concern...

second check your oil drain plug

 

Ever notice any oil spots when you have your car parked for a while. Get underneath and see if you have any wet spots from oil. Check your spark plugs for oil, too.

 

what do u mean... im thinking aobut switching back to castrol conventional...all the jgtc's use it

 

I used to lose oil too when I was using 5w-30 mobil 1 synthetic, though not as bad as you. I switched to 10w-30 mobil 1 synthetic and the oil loss stopped. just something to consider if you don't need to be using the 5w-30 for winter.

 

oil loss with mobil 1 seems to be fairly normal.

IMO, you could use a heavier weight oil or if you live in the south you could use a straight weight oil.. or use castrol gtx.

are you sure you are not compensating for the oil that is goin in the oil filter?

 

Show me a DC2 OEM oil fillter that holds 1qt of oil and I'll get you a ******* from britney spears.

 

im not tryin to say it holds a quart but it does hold some.

 

it holds almost half Qtr,it it helps to fill it befor it is installed.imo
