type-r with turbo plz come in
next week i'll have my drag kit turbo install, just b4 i do it, i want to ask if anyone ever has any problems with the car with stock internal around 6psi, like blow engine...etc. i'll be running on stock internal with 6psi.
please let me know if you have any problem with the setup and how long have you had the kit for..
also do i need to upgrade my clutch ?
and i think for now i'll just use the stock ecu, which boost controller would u guys recommand? manual or electronic ?

boost low like at 4 psi until it's tuned. and upgrade the clutch, the stock one wont handle that much.

well if it is set at 6, you cant go lower. my friend has a drag kit, his wg is at 4. he got this one because he didn't want to risk boosting more before he gets it tuned.
so at 4 psi what kinda WG is that ? and what;s the max PSI can it go ? i dont want to spend money to buy the spring for WG later on
BTW what to tune if i use stock ecu ... is there anything ican tune it ? i thought u can tune when u have like hondata or Vafc ..etc

6 psi is fine on a stock bottom end. The thing to watch out for is romping on it while the engine is cold, because the most common problem is cracking a ringlands...
You can change out the spring in your wastegate to make it smaller or larger, its up to you. Get some larger injectors, that would be a good start. Clutch is ok but will start to slip sooner then a better aftermarket clutch.

What kind of wastegate are you running?
Also, you can only tune the hondata if you have everything required. IE, getting a 2B type setup will allow hondata tuners to program your ECU, not you. VAFC just tricks the map sensor, doesn't add "fuel".

yea and if you dont have a vafc or something to play with the fuel with, your gonna give yourself more of za headache, that fmu might not get you right on the money with the fuel .
6psi is fine , i know people running 12psi on stock internals daily driven on their R's. its all in how you tune it. Im tuning mine for 8psi on the street and 10psi for the track on stock internals.

.i'm not talking about to get lots of power out of my R, i'll most likely to get 240whp to play around on the race track, but no drag race for my R
so i should be fine to set at 6 psi, but how is clutch ? will i need one soon ? or i can just use stock for now, i'm in canada the next race track wont be anytime soon.
When i got my drag 3 kit it came with a clutch..and YES!! you will need a clutch very soon..i'll give it around 2-3 weeks on a stock clutch. My tial waste gate is at .31 bar...ask ben from importparts to give you the lower boost setting, in my opinion you want to be running the lowest amount of boost possible, because you can always raise boost but can't go below stock waste gate setting..so might as well save some fuel.

... more research shoulda been done before buying into a kit
the 0.3 spring with the 35mm tial wastegate is 4.9 psi.
something i would suggest rather than a 6.5 psi untuned.
heck i wouldnt suggest running any turbo untuned.
soup **** is right even though hes a dick. you should have done more research then just throwing all your money into something you have no idea about.

to mebut how can i tune without hondata ecu ? can they tune on stock ecu ? i mean there is nothing to programable tho

well i did do some reseach for about a month but i guess it wasnt enough
to me

I may be **** but me personally I could not put that turbo kit on my car without...
-upgraded clutch like say ACT XTSS, while your at it get a fidanza.
-440cc injectors
-nice electric boost controller like HKS and turbo timer
-Hondata w/ boost option, cam gears, fpr and a timing gun
-TUNING, TUNING, TUNING
P.S. - That's just he bare minimum. If I were to do turbo I would save and do everything right the first time, but I guess that's just me.

if broke, tune it with DSM 440's and a vafc + hack.
i dont like the idea of that now (thanks SGT), but for a interim "i'm broke" fashion, it works.
hondata 2b + proper ecu + tuning will run around 1k.
the good thing abotu the hondata is that you can adjust other things, besides your fuel mapping...its pretty much a programmable ecu. People might argue AEM is better but until i see an EMS tuned i wont believe it
