I hate H22a motors
OK i am working on a H22a motor in a Honda Accord...i put the motor in and i cant figure out why #2 isn't getting fuel....#2 injector and all the other ones are getting, power 12v...At first #1 and #2 were not getting fuel and then when i let it run for like 2 min. #1 got fuel...Hmmm....now its just #2....WE dont have an ECU for it we are waiting for the Prelude obd1 ecu so for right now i am useing a ITR ecu in a 96 Accord..Thats just to get it started...Again,All injectors are getting power....And #1 and #2 are brand new injetors too...Thats what i dont get..the only thing i can think of is that the ITR ecu is fucked.....but why would number 1 just start working after a few min...So now 1,3,4 are working and i cant figure it out...So if someone can give me a hint please I thank you...
Thanks

peak and hold vs saturated, dont know what the itr uses but the h22 (depends on the year) is different from most honda's, that may be a place to start looking
Um i have a friend that has a 92 lude with a h22a in it and he is useing a p28 ecu with a mugen chip...explain that one......and all his injectors are working.....
Thanks

maybe he has a resistor box wired up, maybe he has different injector's, i was just trying to make a suggestion, maybe if you were more clear, ie we have xx injectors w/or w/o xx...
edit: oh ya, i think the 92's came stock w/the resistor box also

ok so next thing, have you had the injectors cleaned and flow tested? could be dirty injectors and the one is still clogged...im not sure honestly just thinking out loud, im sure someone will have some more answers in the morning
thats cool but the ones that arent working are brand new from honda..thats the funny thing......We got 2 of them because at first 1 and 2 were not working so we got 2 new ones and now its just that one #2...at first what we di was changed them out with 91 b16a injectors and then number 1 worked and numbver 2 didnt so then we got 2 new ones nad now its just #2 not working?????
Thanks

To go back to the first suggestion, what injectors did you get? If you got them from Honda, they're probably the latest Gens which are high resistance. If you try to use a resistor box with those, you'll get erratic injector behavior. Otherwise, if the injectors are working, power has been supplied, and there's fuel pressure in the rail, the only possible problem is wiring to the ECU, or the ECU itself.
Ross, if you have the jumper harness thing to run an obd-1 ecu I'll drive up there and you can plug in my p13 or my p72.
Oh and I also second the motion: I hate h22's!!!!!!!!!!!!

1993-95 H22A1's have peak and hold/high resistance injectors.
all GS-R's and ITR's have saturated/low resistance injectors.
make sure you have an H22A4, or change out your injectors to saturated ones to match the signal from the ITR ECU you're using.
there's always the possibility you may have burnt out the #2 injectorby using the wrong injectors with the current injector driver.

No, it's impossible to have burnt out the injector, it doesn't work that way. What would burn out is the injector driver.
The ECU has nothing to do with it. All Honda ECU's use saturated injector drivers. ALL OF THEM.
The only difference between high resistance injectors (saturated) and low resistance injectors (peak and hold) is the resistor is built into the high resistance injector. The low resistance injectors used on older Honda's have an external resistor pack so they can be driven with a saturated driver.
BTW, though it's common to call injectors saturated and peak and hold, it's technicaly incorrect. The injector driver can be saturated or peak and hold, the injector has nothing to do with this, though a peak and hold injector driver can only use low resistance injectors, a saturated injector driver can use high resistance injectors, or low resistance injectors with an external resistor.
