Default oil leaking from turbo

I have lots of oil coming from my turbo instantly after I start it. I had a clogged return line but I fixed it but there is still lots of oil coming form the exhaust housing side, why would oil be steadily flowing like this. There is no oil in the charge pipes just a stream of oil coming from the center of the turbo, thanks.

had the same problem when installing my turbo, if its a turbonetics , it tends to happen. your turbo seals ar going bad. you need a rebuild.

Yeah, its a turbonetics exhaust side, garret compressor, if the seal was bad would it leak oil in the pipes because mine doesnt. It just leaks out the middle and some from the downpipe.

Check your drain flange. If you don't have a tight seal or didn't use a gasket, oil will find a way to spew out from there and it will get all over the exh. and comp. sides. If you don't have a gasket, atleast line it with some RTV.

Also when I rev it up, it feels like the power cuts out at like 4k, almost like something is clogged up to where it is restricting everything.

Check your fuel system, could by anything from too much fuel especially if that's when you hit boost to a clogged fuel filter.

Look into a seals kit instead of the whole rebuild kit. The seals kit tends to be a bit less expensive (Mine ran $150 and have a Turbonetics T3/T4). I had a similar problem and now it's all good.

anyone else have luck rebuilding your own turbo? i was thinking I could mark the fins so I could line them up again when i'm reassembling them, that way I would'nt have to balance it. i'm puffing blue smoke out the exhaust after a hard boost, and there's oil in the intake of the turbo. I wonder if the turbo is getting too much oil pressure? I am using a 280zx turbo oil line. any way to cut down the oil pressure on the line?
