Default 98+ ITR head on B18c1?

Ok, I was thinking about buying a JDM 98+ ITR head to put on my 95 b18c1, will this head bolt right up with no wiring difference and no clearence problems, and would I see a worth while gain in hp? Also, with my stock bottom end could I take it to 9500 rpm? Thanks for the help.

You won`t see any major gains unless you up the compression, too. Drop in R pistons while you have the head off it.

also, remember its key to have it tuned right and with proper programming and the right driver. who knows what times you'll make...

I belive you will still see gains with out the higher compression, though much larger with higher compression!

The ITR head is badass, And the cams will help too!!

Nothing beats factory port and polish

I dont feel comfortable doing the pistons myself because I have never pulled or installed pistons and dont have the tools to check the cleances. (I would love to do some itr pistons though)

a Type R head is basically a B16 head hand ported a bit.......so yeah you can use it, the cams would help like said before

its a straight swap if your worried bout bolting on without modifications.
you can make up for losing compression by using a spoon or mugen thin headgasket.

give PROSTREET in hayward a call if you dont want to mess with the pistons...

we took two motors there and got it rebuilt(b18a,b18c1) cleaned and reasembled..

total of 400 dollars... its worth it if you dont want to deal with the hassle of putting it together....

true... but if your only daily driver is your weekend worrior, you cant afford to have and KABOOMS or experiment with it...

my buddy put together his bottom end for his ls\vtec by himself and screwed it up... it end up costing him and new bottom end.....not to mention no car to drive...

but thats us...we cant afford a second car...

for the money you can spend less and get the itr pistons or ctr which will really increase compr. but if you are going in the bottom do it right or don't do it at all go for true forged piston's and rods and then later you could do what ever you want spray turbo or what ever. You then can really go to 9,500 rpms safer with some head work. That doesn't you will be making true power at that rpm but you could .
