I've been a member here for a while and some of you guys I consider good friends and others great acquiantences.
This is my Dilemna. I have a 93 Honda civic hatchback SI with a 2001 ITR head/block and 98 JDM ITR tranny.
NAB20C5 that used to be o nthe board alot is currently doing other things in his life that are more important so I have the opportunity to buy his car.
I don't owe very much on the civic but still a note is a note.
Eric's car is a 98 ITR. He has GSR suspension/brakes on it (along with the 4 lug conversion.....don't ask). NO wing or emblems (I could really care less). No back seat but 2 civic SI seats, full dash and carpet.
If I was to buy this car I'd take my motor with me my sparco steering wheel (And spoon shift ****). I'd leave the VIS carbon fiber hood, Vision corners, KYB AGX adjustable shox, Neuspeed springs, Neuspeed front lower tie bie and rear tie bar, ITR front upper tie bar, Custom Entertainment console with V-AFC, RSM, and Apex'i Auto timer, Apex'i N1 exhaust and integra radiator. Oh yeah my Volk Gram lights will be going with it.
? is do you think this is worth it.
I won't have a note anymore but Eric's car will need alot of parts....alot. Kewl thing is I can just buy the stuff I want (Tein suspension, Some advan's, Sparco's or Corbeau's etc).
Not sure what to do.
Sell my hybrid and get out of a note and start another project note free but knowing it needs alot of money to make me happy or just leave it alone and continue to pay off my civic.
What would you guys do????

I would keep my Civic and work hard at paying it off before I bought anymore mods for it. pay off your loan as soon as possible then go have fun in your kaaaah

Nah its not slow I just have alot of other things I'm trying to get rid of before I try getting a house in March-May.
Selling the civic would alos pay off 2 bills (1 being the note 2 being one of my credit cards).
2 Civic:::::: 0 ITR
Any other opinions?

Do what ever it takes to get the house. thats ur big investment right there. soif it means keeping the civic and paying it off then do that.

Keep the Civic, if you get the ITR you will end up putting it back to OEM (5-lug swap) and stuff like that. You might say you won't but you will.
Save your time and money.

No not a salvage title. He was going to Drag race it only (Hence the 4 lug conversion). Never been hit.
This is the way I look @ it. I would get Tein's anyway (So I could car less about the GSR suspension)
I'll get a fast brakes kit (Evening out not having the ITR brakes)
Doing the 4 lug conversion back ot a 5 lug would be for that fact that it is an ITR (Something about having a 4 lug just doesn't seem natural to me.
I'd be replacing the seats anyway (But lack of a back seat is another item I'd have to get that could be spent elsewhere).
I think you guys kinda misunderstand me. If I sell my civic that actually helps me out financial wise because that is no car note on my credit and I can pay 1 (Maybe 2 depending on how much I can get for my civic) credit cards.
So selling the civic enables me to get ahead credit wise for sure.

You wouldn't be asking if you has second thoughts about it. Chances are you will regret losing a light EG with a R swap once you do it. If your not 100% sold on it, don't do it!

Keep the hatch. Buy getting rid of the car note, it may help your finances some. But having a credit card & car note won't hurt your credit that bad. IF that's all you have and you've never been real late on any other bills, all other cards that you don't use are canceled, You should be in the low 700's(credit rating). And you'll still be able to get the house. So, once again, keep the hatch. Since you built one type r, why would you want to get rid of it to build another?
Good luck with your decision.

i understand exactly what u want to do.....i had the chance, a freind of mine has a hatch with a gsr and turbo and he was going to trade me his car (pay off mine) but take off his turbo and cf hood but leave me the gsr swap and the full apexi N1 suspension. that wouldve made life alot easier and i would be able to not werk as much to pay my car payments and insurance....

Most recent pics of my car.
In answer to the gentleman before. One of the reasons I'm thinking about building another ITR is because of the bills I can save and payoff with the hatch (I have alot of bills and I'm the only one working so every little bit helps)
The other reason is because my father ran my car in to a concrete wall 3 days after I bought it brand new (The ITR that is) and I had nothing but bad luck with that car). I did alot of driving so I sold it because it had been hit a few times (Bad rear end collosion) and it had a lot of miles.
I say trade.
Make a fresh start.
You could always but your civic back to stock and sell it that way.
Go with an ITR and autocross.

I'd say keep the hatch, but that's just my opinion, besides, it seems like you answered your own question and really have your eyes on that ITR, so on that note, go for it.
