knocking noise
on my 96 accord, there is a consistent knockin noise when i am goin under 60 mph. i have drop zone adjustable coil overs, it has only done it since ive lowered it, is anyone else with a 5th gen ever had or having this problem? please help, ive had two mechanics and the honda dealership tell me that they dont know what it is.
Do you still have your stock shock absorbers? If so your shocks are set to travel at some maximum distance, but if you shorten your height by lowering the adjustment on your springs, your shocks will still try to travel the same distance, causing the springs to compress to their maximum, and the knocking could come from the spring rings slamming into one another. You cannot lower your springs without getting shock absorbrs that are stiffer also.
I still have all my stock equipment, the only thing i have different is the springs which are dropzone adjustable coil overs, the noise was on the front left side of the car but it stoped and then it started to do the same thing on the right side of the car with in the past few weeks, i think its something loose knockin against the firewall, at least it sounds really close, a mechanic said it could be in the ball joint on the top of the strut.
thanks for the replys please keep helpin

dude also where the noise is coming from check for any loose parts or even some signs of grinding or something maybe things are rubbing against each other .. also if you have the factory shocks and have droped more than 1.5 or so- not exactly sure on the number - things go south cuz the factory shocks wont be able to handle that..
good luck
