Default Chronic (hehe) back pain from JDM SR-II's....

WTF, is it me or is anybody else getting lower back pains from sitting in this seat? My lower back hurts after about 30 minutes of driving. I've tried every possible combination of adjustment you can try and it still hurts. Never had this problem with the OE USDM seats... oh well. I wonder if I can sue Honda of Japan?

You can't do jack. The best you can do is put a pillow there.

Could it be your suspension? I'm not sure what you are running.

i used to get that pain too (i don't have the JDM seats but i do have the Recaro SRD's). but then i bought the recaro lumbar support. it's a little bag thing with a pump. i just installed it into the seat now i have adjustable back support, and no more back pains

Hrm, this sucks. I guess I gotta get my girlfriend to make me a "Type R" lumbar pillow.

I'm running the stock suspension, I don't think that has anything to do with it though.

I'll buy those uncomfortable seats for a generous $100.

Stop sitting like a stunna and maybe it wouldn't happen.

Seriously, do you always sit in your seat with good posture?

Curious, do you have SR-IIs (as the title suggests) or SR-IIIs?

I want SR-IIs in gray

i had the same problem when i used to have jdm recaro's, i think it's all correct posture. after i switched to bucket seats, i can't sit in a normal reclinable seat with adjusting like an old lady

When driving by me, you can see my head in the rear quarter window! LOL No. I'm 5'5" or so so I need to sit up close to the pedals. I sit straight up, hell, my girlfriend "dips" more than I do.

Are you referring to the position of the seat or your posture?

Try making a conscious effort to sit up straight and have good posture, and see if that doesn't take care of the back ache.

Well, the position of my seat is a direct relation to my posture! (Which is pretty much upright)

Are your feet more or less inline with your shoulders while you drive?

skafia,

check this out:
http://www.turnfast.com/tech_driving..._seating.lasso

i read this entire site before i headed up to buttonwillow and it helped out ALOT. especially since i never did any type of track event. anyway, ever since i started sitting with that mentality as shown on the site, i haven't had any back problems since! i used to have lower back pains...but now that i sit upright (shoulders to the back of the seat and your rump at the corner of the seat) i feel perfectly snug. the OEM seats are not too shabby. but since you've got the recaro's...can't blame the seats

kepani-who used to feel like an old lady when sitting so close....

my friend was getting back aches too. Then I asked him if his *** was on the back of the seat and he said no. apparently scooting forward and slouching will fug up ur back in any seat. I never once had any problems with the jdm recaros.

Try to put 50% of your weight in your butt, and the other in your back.
Thats what the speedtrials chief instructor said, and after trying it, feels good IMO.

I bought the lumbar pump for my SRD cause I thought i'd need it, but after I played around with the seat and got it to where my posture is right when driving I never use it anymore.

Is your back hurting because the seat has to much lumbar support or not enough?
