i'm going sohc VTEC.....
i did a search but i wasn't satisfied so please if you know you're going to post something useless, don't bother! everyone else, please help!
got an 89 dx hb and my co-worker is swapping in a gsr motor in his 95 Si coupe and i told him i'll buy the complete swap for $500 CDN(p28 ECU, tranny, engine) and he agreed. i know i have to convert the fuel system to mpfi but besides that, what else do i gotta do? i mean i know it will drop right in, but i'm not going to use the hydro tranny instead i'll use the 4th gen Si tranny, i wanna use the P28 ECU but if its better or easier to just hook up a vtec switch then i will go that route.
how hard is it to convert to OBD1? do i have to?
i heard someone here sells obd0 to obd1 convertion harness, who is it?? how much?
can i use all the existing plugs to plug right in to...for example...obd1 distro...sensors????

get a hold of blownhatch(its not spelled right) and he will sell u the conversion for 170 ish or something...(do a search for OBDO-OBDI conversion)
get a hold of a 4G Si dizzy, injector resistor(only if u stay OBDO), injectorsfrom 4G (only if u stay OBDO), Si tranny,
convert ur car from DPFI to MPFI then use the plug and play conversion... u need to add vtec, oil press, knock sensor, 2 wire O2....
use ur stock engine's mounts!!
u can use the 5G intake manifold.. they work even on ODBO (PM6 bc i am )
any more questions feel free to ask me...
PS, just give him 325 for engine+ecu

well he said he's not going to need the tranny and he doesn't want it lying around his place so i'll take as a favor. i'm gonna ask him again see if he will sell it for just $400 instead of $500 ...the motor gots a lot of kms but still runs mint.
so with the obd0 to obd1 harness, i will need to take out the existing harness and put in the obd1 harness????? isn't that kinda hard to do????
i thought with the convertion harness you don't need to wire in the VTEC? or do you ??
i know the distro is different with 5gs and in order for the 4g distro to work i gotta enlarge the mounting holes and i don't think i wanna do that so i think i'll go the obd1 route........
