one of them might be making that rattling/ grinding noise when im shifting were all of them are located? Any help thanks.

 

under the car. the one that is probably rattling is the heatsheild that sits above the cat. i had a short shifter and i had to remove that heatsheild b/c the shifter was rattling against it.

 

I already removed the one that up near the bottom of the header and theres still noise. Its sounds like its in the engine bay or at least in front of me not under me I think... Any other help.... Thanks

 

i've got that problem too.

 

i had that problem for two days, i jacked up my car, went under. It turned out that one of the heatshields was rubbing on the cat. I just bent the **** out of the heatshield so it wouldnt rub no more. Since then, i dont hear a peep out of it.

 

one behind exhaust manifold, one in front of exhaust manifold, 2 on the downpipe and 1 in front of the fuel pump under the car, and one where the shift linkage is, and 2 around the catalytic converter.
