I need help in buying a prelude!
Hey guys, just signed on the honda-tech, and I'm actually pretty new in the car scene. I need to buy a car ASAP, and I found a 97 Prelude with 133k miles, everything looks to be in great condition. Hes got it lowered (i think about 2 inches) with Eibach springs, and hes got a cold-air. He got into an accident a little while ago with a curb, and replaced the front fender, got a new axle, and suspension. All it needs right now is a CV joint. My main prob right now is that I'm short of cash, so I won't be able to handle much maintenance, do you think this car will last me till round 200k without really having to go into the shop? I can prolly afford to get the motor rebuilt in like 2 years, but nothing for right now. Would appreciate it if y'all could help me out quick
It depends on how he drove it, if he is the first owner, etc. 133,000 miles is not much for a Honda, unless it has been abused. But whether he abused it or pampered it, you should always be putting at least $50 a month into a repair fund just in case.
BTW. 200k miles would take a daily driver about 4-5 years to build up from 133k. (at roughyly 12k / year). How much do you intend to drive the car? and how long do you want to drive it?

... Well , I would say .. Ask yourslef what you want out of a car.. now if its Great handling and moderate power.. go with the SH but if its speed you want.. base model with upgrades or , h23 is always nice..
cheers

First off, Damn thats alot of mileage for a 97 Prelude. If you're getting it cheap, then go ahead and buy it. Second, what do you really want outta the car? Something to race or keep as a daily driver? Looks to see how the car drives and the condition the whole car is in
