Bent valves... estimates on pricing to fix...
I got a leak-down test done and cylinder #1 has a 30% compression leak
just curious how much it would be to get everything fixed... thanks..

yeh...my cyl 4 exhaust valves have seen better days, as well as my cyl 1 exhaust valves. good question, but I intend to do most of the work myself (well...assuming I dont need to get it machined in any way)
taking apart the block is something i will probally never do by myself... wonder if i can get some help on this board... thanks..
yeah its not that hard just give me call i can help you out. the valves to replace and do all that is not gonna be that expensive probably looking no more than 300 bucks total with new valves.
oh really, thats not taht bad... i got a quote by the mechanics at Carboy... 500-600 they said including labor and parts, 1-2 days in the shop
im not sure if i want to upgrade, but i'm thinking about doing so because they are going to have to take apart my block, might as well upgrade right? but really, i just want my car running nice again, and work from there..

Well I had mine done at a shop when I bent my valves and it was about $1300 for labor and parts. I got valves, retainers, springs, cam gears, head studs, and a head gasket.

if you take your head off yourself you would save alot of money, like 200 bucks. you could save even more if you bought the head gasket yourself and took the head apart yourself.

If you have GSR its not as much a headache as a LS. If you have a pretty good memory you can remember how things go, or if you are paranoid about getting it wrong.
When I got valves done it cost me about $200-$300 total. That was valve guides and two newly cut seats. What do you want done, all new valves?, just one?
Do you have a backup car? That would help....I wish I did...

Yeah...I think Viren listed a pretty good price. I know exactly where you are coming from...just imagine rebuilding your motor by yourself...after getting a valve job, and the ****** doesnt start. I worked on that bitch for like 2 days straight and it didnt crank. Needless to say I was on the edge....
Be careful shifting from now on......I have to tell myself that every time I rip it
