Default vibration at 16-23 m.p.h.

I have a quesition about my 97 accord lx.......I was wondering if anyone had some information on this. Recently I changed out my original factory axle to a O.E.M replacement one from the local parts store. Ever since then I have been feeling this vibration coming from the drivers side of the car at only speed starting at approx. 16-24 M.P.H. and was wondering if anyone knew what would be the problem. Its for sure not the axle because I just replaced the same one again because it was defective and making a clicking sound 4 days after I put it in.....Please help! thanks

I am having the same problem. I was having heavy vibration at higher speeds under load. It was diagnosed as a bad inner CV. After putting in a rebuilt driver side axle, the high speed vibration stopped but another vibration started between 16-24 MPH. After visiting a few mechanics I swapped the axle for a new one. This fixed the problem briefly but now I can feel it again. I am at a total loss.
Any ideas?

what axles are you buying?

how are you installing them?

most axles are reground, not new, they grind the old metal away and fit bearings on it until they find one that works, making it a cheap turn around replacement

when installing you need to make sure that the axle "stays together" and you do not pull on the CV's on either end

if you want to talk with someone else about it call Mardi at RAXLES, http://www.raxles.com
very nice guy with a lot of axle knowledge

Any suggestions about how to check the bushings?
I have tried several rebuilt axles before installing a new GCK axle. The problem gets better each time but then returns. Before replacement the old axle was vibrating very bad at higher speeds for a while. Could this have damaged the bushings?
Thank you for your help,
Craig

jack the car up, get under there look for worn bushings. worn bushings will be cracked or warped looking.

I don't know I may be way off here but maybe you should try rotating the tires and/or balancing them unless you've done that recently maybe that could be your problem.
