Changing Oil Pan - or - Will This Fit?
I have a '97 Civic HX with a '98 Civic EX engine.
I hydroplaned on an off ramp and went over the median at the bottom and busted my oil pan, broke my F-L rim and bent my F-L A-Arm.
I can't seem to find an oil pan at a junkyard; they all want to sell whole engines.
A new one from Honda is $250 and I'd rather go a cheaper route.
Here's the question: Would an oil pan from a '95 Civic fit?
They're both 1.6s and look the same.
I haven’t been able to compare them in person and would like to know before I go and pull the pan off the '95.
If there's anything else you need to know to help me, I'll be glad to answer.
Thanks.

You would have to know the engine code from the '95 civic if its a D16Y8 like yours it will, other wise it most likely will not.
Just take your pan to wherever the other one is and compare, If all it costs is pulling the pan off no big loss.

I think the '95 Civic is a DX, but I could be mistaken.
Can you point me in the direction of a chart showing what engine is in what car?
Thanks.

I really appreciate the help.
Now I really wish I hadn't fucked up my HX oil pan.
Bent a rod and ended up with all kinds of holes in my engine while going down the interstate.
Even went through my oil pan in the front and back.
Thanks again.
