Wanna bees make me angry
i made a post about the best engine....for a everyday driver but the 1/4 mile for most. we have a local track about 20 miles from me and wouldn't mind showing up to play with the big dogs too. but mainly i want to drive it everyday and not worry about engine failure when a little civic with clear taillights wants to race. my friends say a LS with a Vtec head and turbo would be best but i was going for a second opinion. also with going turbo i would need rods, pistons, and most likly better valve springs. what is the best place to buy these upgraded engine components.
but if there is a better combo speak up and let your knowledge be heard.
thanks

you say that your biggest concern is engine failure, so i'd avoid the ls/vtec combination perhaps. word is that they have reliability problems (from what i hear). i'm not saying never do it, but a number of people have had bad experiences with it, and it's certainly not as reliable as a straightforward swap.
it'd be best to look up the info on the ls/vtec yourself...check this link (it explains everything fairly well)

also, allthough i'm not the "know-all" of hondas, but it would really help if you said what type of engine you plan to turbo...IF you go turbo, then you'd get more accurate responses.
cheers

I would go with a b18c/c1 turbo. This combination has been tried and proven a very reliable combination that produces a lot of power. As long as the block is built the car will handle a lot of boost depending on what engine management system is used...ie AEM EMS, Hondata, etc. When it comes to a boosted honda motor....tuning is key as well as a reinforced bottom end.

i've heard b18's and b20's respond very well to boost... read a post the other day of a guy with an ls/turbo hatch that was spanking the **** out of lots of cars... forgot his u/n but props to him... sweet car... i wouldn't do the ls/crvtec unless you have alot of extra cash laying around as well as an extra car to drive... that's just my opinion
