any suggestions on what i should get for better handling
an autox entry fee..and a driving instruction class...will help with better handling if you have to ask such a question.
can you guys help me out.
can you guys help me out.
1) How long have you had the car thus far?
2) How many miles are on the car?
3) Exactly what do you do with the car? IE Daily driver/commuter, Weekend track or autocross, Or "god help us" Drag racing?
4) What attributes exactly do you want to change, where do you think the car is lacking?
5) Are you really more concerend more with handling OR looks?
6) Exactly what types of driving events or driving schools have you attended? If events how did you do, and how do you want to change the hendling for these events?
7) Can you recognize Understeer or Oversteer and or which you desire or are you more interested in a Neutral handling car?
8) What tires/Rim combination are on the car currently PLEASE INCLUDE SIZE AND PRESSURES YOU USUALLY RUN F&R?
Answer these as best you can then someone can help you. You must hopefully already know that the ITR's suspension and brakes in stock form are of the most competant and potent available on a stock car. If you don't know this then you really should hit a few autocrosses and or driving school or track events to really see what the car is capable of. Thinking that it lacks means that the driver is really what is lacking, and I am NOT picking on you... It takes time and effort to learn to drive well.
Theres no sense changing something that is nearly perfect if you can't "out-drive" it yet. If it's for looks then it's really for the wrong reasons but, to each his own you can do what you want.
Your post question is just too broad, and even answering the above questions will just be touching the "Tip" of the iceberg as per modifying the R's stock suspension. You can spend loads of money getting a new or aftermarket setup for the car but, Exactly WHY, if it is so well balanced, and predictable as it is?
Good luck,
A.

if you are out driving the r suspension then you should be at a level where you know what you need to do to the suspension next.

ahh.. another ITR owner that wish the car is better..
human can never be satisfied..
I think the Stock R is good enough for me.. though sometimes I think it could be better..
yet I know a lot of people wrecked their Rs because they think the car is so good and didn't realize that Physics are still... Physics.. :D
Better Handling? put Turbos or NOS..

yeah, I'd say driving school or auto X'ing on stock suspension....but if you need to upgrade I'd go with spring, wheels, tires, coilovers.
