Brake light failure warning light on dash that comes on all the time.
Hi Friends, need help on brake circuit expertise. My car, an Accord Sedan SV4 1994 RHD (Malaysia) has this brake failure warning light that comes on every time the car is running. Comes in after the brake pedal is pressed right after engine is started. Brake bulbs are in good condition and contacts in the connectors are good as well. The module on the back of the lamp cluster is good too, swapoed with known working one from another car. This problem initially started as appearing for a few minutes then going away. Later on, it stays on all time after starting. One exception is that is does not appear if the car is parked in hot sun - interior is hot. But eventually comes after driving for an hour or so - after interior has cooled.
Now that is not happening anymore. Failure light comes in after brake pedal is pressed after starting all the time. I suspect a loose or corroded connection in the wiring cluster in the driver's footwell. There was once a windscreen seal leak at the A pillar which has water wetting the carpet in the footwell. The water must have leaked and drip behind the wiring cluster - a possible cause or corrosion. This is my guesstimate conclusion. I do not know which connector or relays in the circuit to check. Hope someone can help. Thanks inadvance. Regards from BK Hong.

U.S. models have a brake lamp failure sensor located in the trunk. If your Accord in Malaysia is similar, then the problem may be due to that sensor.
