Good day, I have a 96 ek with a d16y7, died due to no spark, replaced ignition coil, now I have spark, fuel pressure 35 psi, fuel filter is new as of 10k miles at most, now it starts up normally and immediately dies, I can do this over and over, kind of stuck, I have read issues with main relays on this car, i do hear two clicks when key on and hear the fuel pump priming, also note that every time it dies the pump primes again, maybe a weak fuel pump? any advice would be fantastic.

 

Try running it on carb cleaner or similar through the throttle body. if it continues to run longer than without it, proceed with fuel supply troubleshooting. otherwise confirm mechanical timing, check compression, recheck spark ect.

 

car will run when helper starts and i spray brake cleaner through throttle body, I have replaced fuel pump and filter, will be testing injector pulse this week sometime and will advise

 

If you hold the key in the starter position does it stay running?

 

it does not stay running if I hold the key in start position just before the starter engages
