Default About to rebuild my transmission

So I got told I could have a 96 accord if I wanted to rebuild the trans. Trying to figure out if it’s an A0YA or a B0YA or if all parts are interchangeable as they’re in the same trans family. Rebuilding won’t be difficult at all, it’s just about getting the right parts and finding out what the weak spots are so I can reinforce.

Any transmission guys on here or anyone who have experienced issues I can prevent with my trans on the workbench before I put it in

IIRC difference in AOYA vs BOYA is sedan the other is for wagons.
Wagons have a lower final drive and possibly different 1-4 gear ratios.
What the difference is there may be seals of differing size or the wagon may use an additional steel/friction disc in the clutch packs.

If the sticker is missing from the front of the trans, look for the VIN tag. That will identify what the original application is.

If you have a particular brand of rebuild kit on mind, call up the brand and see if they can help you identify which kit should be used.

FWIW, if the trans is completely dead, it is most likely an impacted pickup from fluid never being changed.

Tyler shows where the pickup is located.

Read the thread for additional info.
Iff trans fluid is very dark/black but not burnt, its most likely an impacted sump.
