I am looking for some help with my 2007 civic si . The problem that I am Having is I cant get the cat monitor or evap monitor to set to a ready status. I have a snapon triton scanner and have done the evap function test and it passes but will not set monitor. I have put over 400 miles on car following different drive cycles and neither of the monitors will not set . I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the heck is going on with them. I have checked and there is no pending codes for a potential failure, so I just don't know what to do about it. I have been in contact with several Honda dealers and they say just keep driving, or take to them and spend money for them to drive it.
PLEASE HELP.
I BOUGHT CAR WITH 107000 k on it with a bad knock sensor and I have changed that and no problems with that. All other monitors have run and set to complete. I just need one of the 2 to set so I can get the car inspected.

 

Does the car have a tune flashed to the ECU ?

 

No my car is totally stock. I did chat with some local mechanics and what i had to do was clear all codes( even though there were none) wait over night ran the evap test and it passed and completed the monitor. They said some times the monitors get stuck or froze and clearing system wakes it up and then they run.
