Hi all, I recently picked up a 2000 Accord Lx, it came with 3 keys but no key fobs. I used the vin decoder on this website and according to that the car came with "remote trunk release with lock", and it has power locks that work, so I assumed it could be locked and unlocked via a key fob. I have now ordered and tried to program 3 different fobs, 2 from amazon generic, and one from ebay that claimed to be a "re shelled oem fob" I followed various youtube videos and could not get any of them to pair.

So my question is there any thing to check on the car that might be preventing them from pairing? Or is it possible that this car never came with a key fob to begin with? I also read that there was a difference between fobs based on if the keyless entry was dealer installed or not? Ts that a potential issue?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

LX did not come from the factory with keyless entry system (i.e., remote transmitter to lock/unlock doors).

It was an accessory option for the LX to add either the dealer-installed keyless entry system or dealer-installed security system.

So, in other words, if it doesn't have the dealer-installed systems, it won't come with the keyless entry.
