2012 Civic 1.8 Very strange stalling issue
I recently bought a 2012 civic ex 1.8 and when I start it up and let it warm up everything is fine. Car drives completely normal for about 30 mins to an hour. After that time it feels like there’s a disconnection from the transmission and the engine wants to stall. You can try and rev it up but there’s no power to the wheels and the engine eventually shuts off. Weird thing is if I shut the car off and turn it back on everything goes back to normal for about 2-3 mins and then it happens again. Also when the loss of power happens, if I put the car into neutral the engine doesn’t shut off, and sometimes after I stop the car I can just put it back into drive and pull off again, but sometimes I have to turn the engine off and on to get moving. What’s more annoying is the car won’t throw a CEL or any codes at all so I don’t know where to start. Was thinking of swapping the CKP sensor and see what happens. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
