Has anyone had this software update accomplished and what did it cost?

 

Hey, I had the PGM-FI update done on my 2021 Accord, the dealer didn’t charge me anything; it was covered under warranty. Might vary by location, though.

 

mine is out of warranty. The dealer first said $450 then raised the price to $600 when I picked up. No reason for the $150 increase. Checked with another dealer and they quoted $458. The TSB says 0.2 hours to accomplish.

 

Why is this relevant?

 

I was told from another dealer that they charge $200 for the scan and $250 for the software up date. At 0.2 hours to do the update, that a $1250 per hour shop rate. I think I’m in the wrong business😳

 

Do you think the software or tooling is free?

Dealerships are franchises and they have to buy that stuff from the manufacturer.....
