Hello folks, I have a 97 civic hx that came without ac from the factory and overtime I’ve learned to work on the car and decided to install all the ac components myself. I successfully added all the lines, compressor, evaporator, condenser+ fan and all the wiring and I would think ac should work but it doesn’t. Compressor and fan kick in if I individually give it power so I believe it has something to do with the ecu or wiring. How do I go about diagnosing my ac system. Would be amazing if someone can also guide me in understand how the ac system/ wiring works, I look at the wiring diagram and I am so confused lmao.
pressing the ac button turns led green but compressor doesn’t engage or condenser fan turns on.
FIXED**
so for whatever reason the pins for the sub harness didn’t match the wire for my main harness. I’m not sure which car I got the sub harness from and why it didn’t match but everything seemed to plug in correctly however pins didn’t match. I rearranged pins and everything worked
Pretty cool you were able to get that working. Good job.! 👍
took me a few days and even dissembling evaporator core troubleshooting every sensor to figure out what was wrong. I hope I save someone a headache in the future
