2012 Odyssey Touring Blind Spot (BSI) issue. Both B18B6 and B18B7 present.
Hi all,
I continue to chase my issue with Blind Spot monitoring on my 2012 Odyssey Touring. My scanner reports that both DTCs B18B6 and B18B7 are present even after clearing the codes and starting the car.
So far, I've worked through the steps documented here for debugging, which leads me to Step 13 which checks for continuity between pin 7 in the connector to the BSI Control Unit and a body ground. According to the documentation, there SHOULDN'T be connectivity, but unfortunately, there is. So, the next step is ...
"Repair a short to ground in the wire between the BSI control unit and the branch of the BSI-CAN line (BSI-CAN L)."
How in the Wide, Wide, World of Sports am I supposed to go about doing that???? ;-)
The Docs state that:
"BSI-CAN is used as a network connecting the BSI control unit and the BSI radar units.
When the BSI control unit does not properly receive information from the BSI-CAN, the BSI system stops control and turns on the BSI indicator."
That sounds to me like the BSI-CAN is the wiring harness that includes the 16 pin connector to the BSI Control Module and everything else downstream of it, including the BSI Radar units behind the bumper. Short of trying to replace the harness, I'm not sure what else I could do here. Is the proper repair to break apart the wiring harness wrapping to look for an exposed wire?
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks for your help,
John
