1996 Sedan EK B20Z AWD Automatic Swap
I haven't been on here in 20+ years since I built my boosted integra but my 13 year old son convinced me to be swap my 96 daily D17 non vtec no reverse auto trans 200k mile ek sedan. The only thing it has going for it was the interior is perfect and has 0 rust (Texas car) I'm in North Jersey. Here's the rundown as of now. Complete D series engine harness and ECU. Still fwd until the summer of 2026 when I can get the S1built rear trailing arms 2001 B20Z crv engine reringed block and head milled (more compression). Had to custom make a oil strainer from my existing and a B18 pick up. Rebuilt the transmission (took 3 months to find new spiders as auto Honda are notorious for shearing the teeth off). Currently running on the D series ECU yes. D series ECU and B series sensors. Removed and plugged the B series IACV port on the manifold. Then, remote mounted the D series to stop the wild surging and better shifting. (pure race right now aka held on with zip ties) Capped the extra plenum for now that came OE on the CRV Axles are from an accord and I think acura, I have the p/n's Swapped in the CRV knuckles so now it's 5 lug and the bigger CRV brakes. Can't remember the mounts I think mostly D series Frame rail on trans side needs to be notched and reboxed or the trans hits the frame rail. Half rad from civic, was already an aftermarket performance from leland, got it off Rock auto. Mishimoto 180 t-stat runs really cool in rain or cooler days. B series Dizzy with HAmotorsports adapter. CKF spliced from 3-2 wire Still working on some bugs but it's cold and dark early these days. Some shifting issues likely due to O2 sensors need some reworkingSpeedo is off by about 10 MPHHigh idle issue likely due to TPS being off a little and weak return spring on throttle cable return. Also accidentally removed a valve setting screw that's deep in the trans. If you move this you must put it back the exact amount of turns, I didn't know that so I didn't count the turns. Really no way to reset it because this is done a specialized Honda manufacturing only equipment, so I'm told by most trans shops. Speaking of which, used Integra throttle cable aftermarket mount with custom bracket where the evap solenoid is along with a cheap eBay throttle body to reorient the cable guide. A little trimming of innera are needed, pretty self explanatory when you get into it. Be sure to loosen your throttle stop screw and or even weld a better access bolt on it. Mine is stuck so I can't adjust it. Other than that it moves out and does what it has to do. A couple of video links here. FYI, I don't check in much maybe 1 or 2 times a month.
