This kills me to do but I am selling my 2000 Civic Type-R, it was crashed in 2008 and has been completely repaired. I bought this car in 2001 or 2002 from a guy in California. The engine was just rebuilt with a Spoon 1.8 liter kit .25 over bore version (done by Joe at LoCash Racing) and has never been started. It also has a Mugen 4-1 header, Tanabe Sustec Pro Coilovers, 5 Zigen Cat back with test pipe and AEM intake. I have the stock CTR rims with it as well that are not pictured but will be included. The rims and tires that are on it now were what I crashed it with at the track and the tires are flat spotted. I had Hondata in it but loaned it to a friend years ago and never got it back so it needs an ECU. The story I was told about this car was that it was also in a minor crash before I bought it and repaired then sold. For transparency I have wondered if this car is authentic a few times or a RHD conversion but it does not have an American VIN, it has an assigned ID from the California Highway Patrol. That is something you have to get with an import to get it registered so that has made me believe its real. I think whoever wants to purchase it should look it over and make their own determination but I am pricing it as if its a RHD conversion. I am willing to take any additional pictures that someone may want if they are out of state and cannot look in person. This vehicle does have some minor dents and dings in the body that could definitely be removed through paintless dent removal. This car still needs someone to finish hooking the engine up but I am sure it could be finished in an afternoon. This car has been sitting in the garage since 2008 and it is time for me to let it go. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I will update this post with any additional information I remember. The vehicle has a clean title with 105,632 KM is located in Gilbert, AZ and is being priced at $15,500 OBO Thanks.
Here are the pictures you requested. There are definitely a few places under the hood that show red paint coming through where it has been repainted. I have never seen any red paint past the firewall to the back end of the car. My initial thought was that the previous owner used a red clip to repair it but its also possible a red clip was used to RHD it. I have no way to contact the previous owner and they swore to me that it was real, however, its completely possible it is a RHD conversion.
well im 100% sure that's a real CTR based off the rear subframe. "Someone" had a CHP hook up back in the day or did it a certain way i wont disclose to be able to get that blue tag.
