Replaced crankshaft position sensor repair shop says it jumped timing not the sensor
2007 civic LX 1.8 manual 180k miles
OK. i was getting an intermittent cut out while driving. so i had the sensor replaced with one from amazon. it/s worse now and i did the battery disconnect for 30 minutes and no change.
With the new sensor, it's almost undrivable. it only really works at full throttle. i then read about the relearn procedure for the sensor. so i called the local honda repair place and guy told me that it as probably jumped time on the timing chain.
This sounds fishy to me as if it jumped time, it would be a constant problem. and changing the sensor would not change that.
Should i just put the old sensor in again. it was OK to drive 99% of the time with it in.
