Default Looking for some advice

I am looking into purchasing a 1989 ef civic hatchback dx with 170k miles on it.
it would be my first civic hatchback and i was wondering if it would be worth getting as it is at a very good price

If it’s not rusted out and runs well get it. Ef hatches are a great platform to build if that’s what you’re interested in.

I am planning on looking at it this Thursday
but from what I know from briefly looking at it it doesn't have any rust but as of now I am
not sure if it starts

Its over 35 years old. Everything is suspect. Of course it was a good car, but your question if it's worth it without saying anything specific is unanswerable.

And now you say it doesn't start.

You need to ask more direct questions.

I get that i just don't have much info on it but 1000$ for a clean chassis even if it doesn't run is steal in my opinion

I think i'm going to get it as I would get it for 1000$ and it has no rust, I have some pictures.I will put here

Scrap value is like $200. Value could be had if you spent time to part the car out. But, that time also has value, that you likely won't make up.

It should probably never be your primary car; atleast with the questions you're asking. Make sure you have an A->B car you can rely on if you take on the money pit project

For sure I own a 1998 jeep cherokee xj 4.0 with 235k miles on it and it runs flawless and that is my daily
