Hi all,

Recently completed a D16Y8 headswap on a D16Y7. It was a rough introduction to learn how to work on cars, but ultimately, I persisted. Unfortunately, I have this odd intermittent ticking noise that won't go away; it sounds like it is coming from the head. For every ~5 minutes of the car idling, I hear it for ~30 seconds. I already cleaned and inspected my rocker arms, added more oil, and redid the valve lash a couple of times. Any clue what this might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda sounds like bad lma’s to me. Lost motion assembly, basically the hydraulic lifter for the vtec lobes.

 

replaced them today, wasn’t the issue
