I am buying a 2000 civic, it is very original and drives great. I did a compression test and it is 175 PSI in 4 cylinders.
However I noticed the spark plugs are little red/brown. Do you think is too rich and maybe cleaning the MAF and a tune up can resolve it or it is a head gasket problem? What do you think? It is a D16y8
That color is from running octane booster (or some type of fuel additive) or leaded fuel. It isn't because it is running rich... and you don't have a MAF sensor... you have a MAP sensor which operates totally different.

They ran Seafoam or some fuel system cleaner thru the gas tank, As long as they dont have oil or are black they will run fine
