Default Help Finding Timing Belt Guide Plate

Does anyone know what the part number for the guide plate that goes behind the crank timing gear for a 96 Accord EX (F22B) is? I seem to be missing it. I can't find it on the parts diagram. I'm seeing it in YouTube videos and in the manual, so I'm assuming it has one.

I'm also looking for the nut for the bolt that holds the timing belt adjusters on. I can't find it on the parts diagram either. Does anyone know what that is?

I get all my part numbers from this website: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/

Just enter your vehicles specs and follow to the area you are looking for. There are other dealers around that have similar sites, so shop carefully. Once you get the number you can also check ebay or amazon, but be careful of counterfeits.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, I've been using HondaAutomotiveParts.com for many years, but the parts diagrams don't show the nut or the guide plate.

Someone on Facebook told me that the 96 doesn't use a guide plate. Which might make sense why the parts diagrams don't show it and why I can't find mine. The video I'd seen it in was for a 95, which apparently uses a different timing gear. It's weird though, because the parts diagrams don't show one for either year. While the service manual shows one for both years. I guess I'm going to throw the gear on without it and hope it's correct. He also was able to provide the part number for the nut.

For anyone else looking for the nut part number, it is 90216-P0A-000.

Unfortunately it's discontinued from Honda. I'm going to do a deep search of my garage for mine. If not, I guess I'll be making the 1.5 hour trip to Pick A Part.

That nut is #24 in the parts blowup posted above. Make sure you pull the rubber spacer as well. Best way to avoid the serpentine belts eating up the timing cover, is to install a properly sized E-clip on the nut as well, to hold the cover in place.

The other piece you are referring to, I believe is the Concave Washer, and you do need it or you'll have slight misalignment of both the timing and serpentine belts, along with a higher probability of destroying the front crankshaft seal (19 in the pic). (SEE EDIT AT BOTTOM OF POST)

If you go to a pull and pay, pull both items.

And bring a very large breaker bar/Really strong impact gun, or hope someone already pulled the crank pulley. I for sure would not go without that washer; Both my old 96 and my current 95 have it. Though they were a DX and LX. the F23A I swapped into my 96 was from an EX, IIRC it also had the washer.

ETA - Looking at the parts blowup above (I searched for EX) It appears that the washer is built into the rear timing gear (17). So if you have that gear with the lip on the rear, you shouldn't need the washer. I believe the lower parts are for DX and LX only(15, 18, 19). So you should be OK without the washer, as long as you do have the EX rear timing gear.

Acurapartswarehouse.com has 90216-PT0-000 in stock for $9.07 US, also for Canadians it can be found at torontohondaparts.com for $9.42 CAD

Also get a new companion rubber 90401-PT0-000 to go with it (#25 in the top post diagram). I was able to get winnipeg honda to bring one of these in from calgary honda. Took 3 days for $13 CAD.

I have the same problem too... Although Google AI says the superseded replacement is 13622-Pv1-000... ppppfffffttttt...
The internal diameter (ID) is correct, 30mm. The outer diameter (OD) is 66mm / 2.5 inches. It needs to be 57mm / 2.2 inches.
I'm thinking of I just cut out the outer ring edge, it will fit perfectly, but will it with though?

Any engineers or like minded here? What you ppl think?
