Icon5 2023 CRV EX-L Bluetooth Contact Paring Issues

Hello all, newbie here...

2023 CRV EX-L (still under factory warranty)

I recently changed cell phone carriers and as a result, I had to buy a new phone.

First off, don't laugh, but my old AND new phones are dumb flip phones using KaiOS.

(A), My old phone paired flawlessly via Bluetooth AND all of my contacts INCLUDING their names populated the Contacts list in my CRV. This allowed me to use Hands Free and tell it to call whoever I wanted in my contact list. Received calls showed the calling party's name.

(B). My new phone pairs just fine as well. When asked, I tell my phone to share contact info (the old phone didn't ask this question, it just paired) HOWEVER, the CRV only imports the phone numbers, NOT the contact names. In addition, even though there are NO country codes added to ANY phone number in my phone's contact list, the CRV adds them...

The bottom line is I can no longer use hands free to call someone unless I know their phone number off the top of my head. In addition, received calls do NOT give the contact name, just the number so basically the whole hands free phone thing is useless.

FWIW - On BOTH phones the contact information resides in a micro SD card, NOT the SIM.

Two differences I am aware regarding the phone in scenario (A) which when pared DID show the contact names and shows the calling party's name when receiving calls:
It is using Bluetooth 4.1 and the OS is KaiOS 2.54

The "NEW" phone in scenario (B) that doesn't import contact names is using Bluetooth 4.2 and the OS is KiaOS 3.1.

Is anyone having a similar contact list paring issue with a 2023 CRV EX-L?

Is anyone using a phone that DOES import contact names know what Bluetooth version that phone is running?

If it is a phone running KiaOS and it imports contact names, do you know the KiaOS version?

I'm not interested in Apple but if you have an Android phone that works, do you know the Bluetooth & Android version??

The bottom line is I can't go back to the old phone because it is carrier locked and can't be used on my new network plus there are other issues so I need a different phone. However before I buy/try something new, I want to make sure it will pair like the old phone and I THINK the Bluetooth and/or KiaOS version has something to do with the problem.

Feel free to ask any questions and thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!!
