Pass. seatbelt doesn't retract, driver's side does.
Hey yall, I have a '91 Accord LX and the passenger seatbelt does not retract automatically while the driver's side does. The seatbelt detection (beeps if not connected) and all else works, but not the retraction.
When I bought the car, the seatbelt control module was unplugged and I was curious why, so this is why.
I want to see if fixing it is easy/reasonable because I think it's really cool and want to maintain it as well.
I can answer any questions and provide video if requested.

Unfortunately, I also have a couple of these cars with the auto seat belt... I have no idea how to fix them.
My driver side chest belt quit and stays in the back position, so I just ran it behind the head rest and only use the lap belt.
I got tired of hearing the passenger side one beeping for no reason, so I cut the clip off of an old parts car to lock into the retraction system.
I am wonder if it is possible to somehow make a standard seat belt work and replace the auto ones, but I really don't care enough about it to try to retro fit a newer belt.
*To fix, you could try to locate the motor and run 12v power to it to make sure that it still works. If it does work with power, check to see if it is getting power to the connection. If yes, then it could be some sensor.
Can you change the module out from the driver/passenger side to see if one is bad?
Noo real solution, I just didn't want your question to go unanswered.

You can just disconnect the control module very easily, in my car its just below the passenger seat.
That would be cool, but I'd rather just fix the retro thing because it's cool.
That makes sense, I'll have to do some tinkering.
