Can someone clear this up for me, where is the fuel filter on this car, in tank, inline, just a mesh, an actual filter? There is so much information out there that contradics each other.

 

the filter is in tank, essentially right on top of the pump. there is also a strainer in there too. I'd change them together if it were mine, IIRC the rear subframe needs to come down to get at it.

I've heard some other markets had external filters on the side of the tank, but not USDM.
