Ball joints
Hi all, I have a Civic SI 2005 Hatchback. I need to replace the ball joints, but I can't not find them. Dealer wants to sale the whole Knuckle. Can I used for another model? Everything is stock in this car.
Google seems to bring up many relevant results. Try searching?

100% strange honda doesn't list the ball joint as a replaceable part in their catalog. Aftermarket has them it seems

I have a 2002 hatch and a 2007 CR-V. The hatchback seems to be ok but when I bought the CR-V I knew it had some front end issues. I replaced the wheel bearings on both sides front and back, all four struts, all four brake rotors and pads, the front calipers, tie rods on both sides. I also did the ball joints, but that was like 5% of the work. They have no upper ball joint; that's integrated into the strut. Lower ball joints are where you'd expect them to be and you can buy replacements online.
The entire steering knuckle doesn't have to be replaced in order to do the bearings, but after not doing that, I would recommend to anyone they do just replace the entire knuckle including bearings. The bearings can be pressed out of the knuckle, but that's difficult even with a press. I have a 20k lb press, and I had a lot of trouble removing the old bearings and pressing the new bearings in.
Final word of wisdom: Don't believe the YouTube videos, it's a lot more difficult than they make it seem!
