What's happening to our forum?
Where did everyone go? No posts in the past week, is there a better EF forum somewhere that I don't know about? I see many FB groups but I hate the format. If someone posts a solution to a problem there, within a week or two it basically disappears never to be seen again. I found a few other places but they all seem even less active than Honda-Tech.
However, even though one can search the archives and find the answers to almost every question/problem that they could ask, they don't... and ask anyway... which pisses off many of the old members because "contributing" doesn't mean spoon feeding lazy, entitled, Millennials and Gen Z'ers.
Also, is the 2G CRX as popular in your area as the EG, EK, and 3G Integra chassis ? Nice, well cared for CRX's are super scarce in my area.
I think its fine to resurrect an old thread if it is closely related and you need more details, but folks here are sometime chastised for that. If a Newby needs to be shown that the information is here in order to convince them the forum is valuable, it is worth the tiny effort required. I see so many of the recent questions are asked by brand new Trial members, many of the recent questions are a members very first post. We need to do everything we can to keep those folks engaged.
IMO...I'd say around the 2000's, the knowledge sharing was at it's highest, many companies founded (hondata, moates, inlinefour, omnipower, asr, skunk2 was a tad earlier, but the foundation of what we know today began then). The 2010's took a lot more amateur enthusiasts and turned them into businessman, and replaced them with more DIYers. In 2014 alone you had Ktuner, Rywire, KMiata (now kpower) all founded. Motivation was high. The 2020's have seen a big drop in amateur DIY'rs, and most of the information learned is now staying with corporate or racing teams and not widely shared like it used to be. Now you have to actually go ask someone, and you'll be the only one to hear their answer, then it will fade away into the annals time (aka FB). You can buy almost anything you need off the shelf for extensive modifications on golden era hondas these days. People are too happy with buying a product vs designing something and dealing with the potential headaches. Most products sold are mature, reliable, and tend to be easy to install (thanks to youtube videos too).

Sad but Forums are basically all dead. I still post on a couple local ones that are somewhat active. I've been saving tons pages from this forum for reference. would love to get the entire EF section downloaded locally because I know at some point it will all go Poof and all the info will sadly be gone.
I've Been on Discords more than anything else for EF specific info but that is just a chat more than anything else. FB groups are terrible.. Is it just me or are all the Honda FB Groups just vague videos of their car making a Noise or not starting with no information on anything and just says let me know what to fix or posts asking for parts or selling parts for 4x what they are worth. Don't even get me started on Reddit.
