Default Engine Swap mods for cd5 accord

Hey all,

So I got myself a 1997 accord v6, the car was very well maintained, very slight bit of rust on one quarter, and the rest of the car is relatively mint. The v6 and transmission have been fine thus far. I wanted to ask, I went through a bunch of forums and googling and even on the Acura side I wanted to see what mods and or swaps can be done for this chassis. From what I understand the engine bay is larger on the v6, mounting is completely different for the c27 motor. I wanted to keep this as a daily so automatic, so the wife can drive it if needed. I looked at the h22/h23 swaps but require some major fabrication work from what I understand. My question would be what would be the most efficient and reliable swap, and or modification (I.e, forced induction) route to go with this chassis. Once again this is a daily, I am looking at all suspension mods and body modifications prior to anything, I don’t want to make insane power, anything in and around 200-300 reliably is more than adequate. It’s a daily that I want primarily for handling and I would prefer a more reliable platform should the transmission decide to… part ways with me.

thank you anyone for your feedback.

You already recognize the issue: the mounting is completely different.

In the early 2000s, I saw a kit for a single turbo setup on an Acura Legend (same 2.7L, different transmission) and liked the idea that Honda already made this work on the C20A (turbo V6), probelm is the MPZA transmission doesn't have heavy enough springs in the Accumulators. If you can get together the parts from other Sonnax kits to make a custom auto trans rebuild kit then it might be worth all the design and fabrication, otherwise that 4 speed auto is going to be mushy and vague all the way to failure; my best guess is being unable to fully compress 1st 2nd quickly enough with the extra power will overheat the drum and steels to failure.

There's nothing wrong with the stock power output. The CE6 is designed to be a cruiser, we have hydraulic bushings in places the CD5 has rubber. The displacement makes for low noise (with the OE Michelins) on the highway, and the torque makes for easy passing without making the engine scream.

The only thing that bothered me over the past 26 years has been the HVAC dials breaking off, so I swapped in the 99 Acura CL dash around 05. That and the captive rotors, again 99 Acura CL 3.0 rotor over hub swapped in around 2012 or 13.
