Run the engine with the radiator cap off and the heater set to hot until the thermostat opens. Keep adding coolant as bubbles come out. If your model has a bleeder screw near the thermostat housing, open it slightly until the bubbles stop. Then close it, cap the radiator, and fill the overflow tank. If it still overheats, check the thermostat, water pump, or radiator.

No need to run the engine at all, this is a misconception.

Heater to full heat yes.
At the back if the thermostat housing is a bleeder screw, open that. Use a long enough clear tubing attached to the bleeder nipple.

Open radiator cap.
Begin filling radiator.
Watch the tube on the bleeder tube.
It will bubble, keep filling the radiator til the rad fills and wait for no more bubbles from the bleeder.
When its only solid coolant the system has been bled.
Close the bleeder nipple and fill radiator, install rad cap.
Fill overflow tank to its mark.

Start engine and watch temp gauge for normal operation.
