How to measure RPM, 89 Civic DX
New member, nice to see a forum for the old Civics still goin'. I bought my 89 HB new, it only has 118k miles, has been the most reliable car I've ever owned, and will probably be the last. The guy who did most of the maintenance on it retired a couple years ago, so I'm gonna have to do more myself.
Am having occasional stalling problems after the engine is warmed up. Coolant levels are good. Am going to remove and clean the IACV and will need a tach to set the idle afterward. My DX has no dashboard tach. I have an old Sears engine analyzer with dwell, tach, etc. but lost the clamp-on probe. So what's the best way to measure rpm on this thing? I have the servicemanual but didn't see anything in there on it.
Any suggestions appreciated.
