Icon5 2015 Accord w/ Manual Trans - Exceptional MPG @ Reduced Highway Speed

( I'm posting this wondering if my recent experience is what could be expected ? )

I've just spent a few days in western Arkansas and my route back to the Dallas (Tx) area includes roughly 130 miles driving on 2 lane country highways in western Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.

On these country highways it has been my experience (I've driven this route once-a-year (except since COVID) for 10 - 12 years) that there are long stretches where there's no other vehicle visible either in front or behind my car.

As a result I can drive at the posted speed limits or slower if I wish (since there's no one coming up behind me with any frequency).

I was driving back (to the Dallas area) yesterday afternoon and decided to see what kind of mileage I'd get if I held my Accord's speed down to the 45 - 55 MPH range.

My 2015 Accord has the 6-speed manual transmission and so I am in control of both the MPH and the RPM.

With my Accord in 6th gear most of the way (a few minor hills caused me to downshift to 5th gear until I'd crested the hill) I drove with the engine (the 2.4L 4-cylinder) right around 2,000 RPM.

When I got to the end of the rural highway portion of my drive (the last ~130 miles back to the Dallas area is on a relatively busy highway) I found that the Accord was telling me that it had been getting between 45 and 48 MPG (I'd stopped a few times while driving the rural highways and the MPG calculator resets each time the car is restarted).

I haven't gassed-up the Accord since getting back home (in the Dallas area) so won't know for sure if the overall mileage calculated will support what the Accord was telling me.

What I'm wondering ... is this reasonable ? ..... I've owned the Accord for a bit over 9 years but never (so far as I can remember) have I intentionally driven at reduced highway speed for so long (~ 2 1/2 hours) with little interfering traffic.
