i have a 98 civic hx non abs car and im trying to change the rear wheel hub and the ones i have order from detroit axle do not fit and the only differences i noticed were the bearing styles from the ones i had to the new ones. The bearings on the inside of the hub are hitting a lip on the spindle and all the research ive done shows the only difference in ek hubs is abs and non abs. im just at a lost done way to much to this car for a wheel hub to stop me. Any help would be appreciated
the part in the red box is the old inner ring from the original hub. that needs to come off. (rusty area is the spindle)
I like to go at it with a 4" cut off wheel at an angle (see blue line) until about half the depth then hit it with a cold chisel until it cracks through. should slide off then. or if you have a puller that will grab it that could work.
