Some sources say the '96 Accord LX 2.2L holds 5.5 ounces while other sources say it holds 8 ounces. Can someone here confirm which it is?

 

5.5 sounds right, I don't have any books in front of me. This would be for a fresh system.
I *thought* it was noted on the silver foil A/C tag on the rad support.

 

Here's the label and it doesn't show the oil capacity. Like I said, most of the info on Google shows my capacity to be approx 5.5 ounces. I then found a couple sources that said like 8 ounces. I had to redo my entire system because I screwed up the first time when I installed a new compressor but I didn't balance the oil level(s) from the old compressor to the new compressor. Instead I had way too much oil and it was affecting the cooling capacity. I took everything down and I flushed my evap core and I replaced the drier and condenser with new ones. I put like 5.2 ounces of oil in my compressor (after I drained it) and I put .3 ounces in my evap core. Now everything works great but I'm paranoid that my current 5.5 ounces of oil might not be enough.
