Default Emergency. Shoes are stuck in drum in process of changing them

I need to remove the drum. When removing brake drum to replace shoes, 2 pins that hold the shoes snapped and are floating inside drum. What can be done about this to remove them? This is my daily driver so I need to resolve this ASAP.

Did you back off the adjusters?

Looks like a Canadian car... I would order a pair of salvage yard trailing arms (drums or discs if you want to upgrade) from a vendor in either California, Arizona, New Mexico or a Southern state like Mississippi or Alabama. What you have pictured isn't worth fixing.

Agree with this sentiment. I recently just replaced my rear drums and shoes, and even though I’m not plagued by rust, they’re such a a PITA, and produce so much brake dust, it convinced me to upgrade to rear discs. Haven’t done the conversion yet, but very much looking forward to it.

I hope backing off the adjustment has allowed you to remove them anyway.

I got them off with a few hammer taps. Old drums weren't damaged but will get some new replacements.

When in doubt, hammer it out!

If anything like this happens again or if this might help someone else: You can also use the shoe spring adjustor, accessible through a hole on the face of the rotor. It's a little gear attached to a spring mechanism that you can tighten or loosen with a flathead. See diagram below.
