1995 Accord EX TDC Code 8
My Accord has been having a few issues. I have replaced a lot of parts on it, including distributor twice, ignition coil, spark plugs, wires, ignition, main relay. Was driving it down the highway and stopped completely mid-drive, no brakes, no gas. Wouldn't start up again, strong cranking, no spark at all. Unsure if this is a timing belt issue, crankshaft position, or TDC sensor. When the car wouldn't start, CEL came on with code 8, TDC. Don't want to take it apart dealing with headgasket and replacement to check the belt if that's not the case, honestly thinking about selling the car. If it were the timing belt, I have not gotten a clear response of whether it is an interference or non-interference engine. It is an LX trim with an EX swap.
Anyone have any ideas? Taking a shot in the dark. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

It IS an interference engine. The TDC sensor is located inside the distributor on a 1995 F22B engine... the '96-97 engine has the TDC and CKP sensors mounted at the crankshaft snout. If you have replaced the distributor with an auto parts store product, there is a good chance that the problem could persist even though you bought a "New" distributor... auto parts store distributor quality is suspect at best. If you still have an OE distributor housing, the seal doesn't leak on the inside, and you do not get TDC, CKP, or CYP sensor codes when it is plugged in, I would refresh that one with a new coil (and ICM if necessary). Have you checked the TDC wiring from the distributor plug (all pins pushed all the way in) and check for continuity between the distributor plug and the ECU plugs ?
